ABOUT ME
I come to this work as a non-binary, neurodivergent, poly, and kink-affirming person living with chronic illness and C-PTSD. I have a background in social work and public health, and prior to that have worked a hodgepodge of jobs, including sex education, theater arts, many jobs in the service industry, several non-profits, and bicycle courier services.
I have had experience both as a client and as a therapist with DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), and this informs the work that I do, although I like to blend DBT skills with affirmative, person-centered talk therapy to ensure that each client is getting their needs met. I pull elements from narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems, supportive reflection, CBT, exposure therapy, Gottman Method, attachment theory, polyamorous literature, and ACT to ensure that each client has methodology tailored to their needs.
As someone with a background both personally and professionally shaped by trauma, I am dedicated to practicing therapy in a strengths-based and trauma-informed manner. My lived experience is a crucial part of my work, and I am committed to uplifting the intersecting elements of my clients’ lives.
